Executive Officers

Mr. Shoichi Uematsu joined Yazaki Corporation in March 1988 and was in charge of semi-conductor process research at Yazaki Research and Technology Center (YTC) until 1997. Mr. Uematsu also worked on sensor development starting in 1998 and became manager of the Sensing Technology Research Department in 2002.

In 2013, Mr. Uematsu established the department of Power Electronics Research at YTC for next generation electric vehicle power distribution systems.

Mr. Uematsu was assigned as the Manager of Research Planning at YTC in 2013, and Deputy General Manager of YTC in 2016. In June 2018, Mr. Uematsu was appointed General Manager of YTC and Chairman of YTC America.

Ray Chaudhuri

Ray has been with YTCA since its inception in 1987 as Orion Laboratories, and was instrumental in setting up all technology development activities of the company from its earliest stages. Ray has held positions of increasing responsibility over the years, including Director of Operations and Vice President. As President, he has initiated a variety of new technology and product development platforms, and led several projects' transition from laboratory to pilot plant scale and commercialization. Ray is a co-inventor on a number of patents and co-author on many technical publications.

Prior to joining YTCA, Ray held research management positions with ITT Corporation (Electro-Optical Products Division) and SpecTran Corporation in the field of fiber optics technology. Ray holds a MS in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India.

Senior Leadership

Dr. Stefan Maat

Stefan joined YTCA as Director of Materials R&D in 2015. Prior to joining YTCA he worked for more than 15 years in the Magnetic Recording Industry as a Research Staff Member and Thin Film Development Manager at IBM and Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (now HGST, a Western Digital Company).

Stefan received his Diploma in Physics from the University of Dortmund in Germany, his MS and PhD in Physics from the University of Alabama, and his MBA from Washington State University. Stefan has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and is an inventor or co-inventor to more than 70 patents.

Kathy joined YTC America in 2004 to manage all accounting activities. Prior to joining YTCA, Kathy worked as a C.P.A. and held Assistant Controller/Controller positions with several companies including Smilesaver Dental Plans, ACT Networks, Forms & Surfaces, and Condor DC Power Supplies. Kathy holds a BS in Accounting from California State University, Northridge.

Anand has been with YTCA since 2002 and has held various positions increasing in responsibilities. Anand is currently responsible for the Information and Communication Technologies R&D and IT Management for the entire company. Prior to YTCA, Anand held various engineering and management positions at Mentor Graphics and Intel Corporation from 1991-2001. Anand has managed complex product development projects and relationships across US, Europe and Israel. Anand holds an MBA degree from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, M.S degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon Graduate Institute and a M.Sc., B.E dual-degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India.

Gail joined YTC America as the Human Resources Manager in 2014. Before joining YTCA, she held various positions in Human Resources at First California Bank, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and XonTech, Incorporated. Prior to transitioning to Human Resources, Gail worked in project management as a Program Administration Manager for XonTech, Incorporated. Gail holds a BS in Business and Management from the University of Redlands.
